Place des Quinconces Bordeaux

The Place des Quinconces in Bordeaux is a vast square, one of the largest in Europe, known for its Rostral Columns (columns adorned with ship prows) symbolizing trade and the Monument aux Girondins, a large column with a Statue of Liberty breaking its chains, surrounded by fountains. The square, named after its five-pointed tree structure, hosts major events and is a major transportation hub, with statues of Montaigne and Montesquieu on the city side.
